THE PHOENIX JUNIOR BADMINTON CLUB CHRISTMAS AWARDS EVENING 2011 09/12/11
The Phoenix badminton club Awards evening took place on Friday the 9th of December to celebrate the achievements of everyone connected with the club. The club has now been established since 2007 and continues to grow thanks to members, coaches and parents.
I would like to personally thank all of the coaching staff which includes: Glenn Dunnett, Bob Edwards and Callum Hall for all their time and effort this year.
It has grown so much that this year the club decided to split their club evening into three sessions, The Dolphins, Barracudas and Sharks which run from 5.45pm-9.15pm.
The evening began with a team photograph of all the members who were there on the night.
After the team photo call there were various fun games played including a space hopper relay, a net rally relay and a three games of around the world with some parents joining in and being very competitive.
At about 7.45pm everyone congregated towards the presentation area where a number of awards were given in the following categories:
2011 Award Winners
Sharks
Most Improved Male- Blaine Richardson
Most Improved Female- Laura Burdis
Barracudas
Most Improved Male- Sam Burdis
Most Improved Female- Susannah Atkinson

The club would like to congratulate all the winners.
There was also a special award for Best Contribution by a Club Member. This award was given to Callum Hall who has been with the club since 2008 as a player and now has just passed his Level 1 Coaching Qualification which will enable him to pass on his knowledge of the game to some of our younger members. Well Done Callum!
Thanks once again to everyone associated with the club, have a very merry Christmas and a great new year
