Wolsy Academy

WFA_logo.jpgThe Academy was established in 2000 by a group of volunteers who wanted to develop football for their children.

It is now one of the largest junior football providers in the district, boasting an average membership of 100 children and young people, with a dedicated team of volunteers and coaches.

Our overall aim is to take children of all abilities and provide opportunities for them to enjoy and progress in football.

The Academy is affiliated to the Football Association.  All coaches are qualified, including First Aid and Child Protection training.

Originally constituted to provide non-competitive football coaching, the Academy has in recent years developed a team that plays in the Russell Foster League (currently u13).   Mature Academy players are invited to join the newly formed Wolsingham Academy FC that plays in the Wear Valley Sunday League.  Both teams have weekly match reports in the Wear Valley Mercury and bi-monthly in the Weardale Gazette.

We aim where possible to provide competitive opportunities for other age groups in tournaments and friendly matches.
