Weardale Gymnastics Club

Another term over and Christmas is just around the corner!! 

I hope you have all seen your children practicing on the bars that have now arrived, they all seem to have taken to this new piece of equipment well and seem to have lots of fun.  Thanks must go out to Durham Foundation and Weardale Action Partnership for providing the funding for this piece of equipment. 

Cancelled session - Monday 29th November 2010 due to snow, this session will be deducted from next terms fees.  In future to save the committee from trying to contact you if the session is to be cancelled can we ask that you either contact the Sports Hall on 01388528808 or view the Sports Hall website who have kindly agreed to put a message on stating if the session is cancelled due to the weather - www.wolsinghamsportshall.com.   A copy of the latest newsletter is also published on the Weardale Gymnastics page of this site.

Class times

Class 1: 4.45pm to 5.45

Class 2: 5.45pm to 6.45

Term Dates

Monday 10th , 17th, 24th, 31st January,   7th , 14th , February 2011

NO SESSION  MONDAY 21st FEBRUARY 2011(HALF TERM)

Monday 28th February, 7th , 14th , 21st , 28th March, 4th , 11th April 2011

Club Fees

Fees will be due again in January 2011.  Please ensure that fees are paid promptly to save the committee and you the embarrassment of having to ask for them. 

The club fee for this term will be £36.00 (13 weeks minus cancelled session)

Cheques and cash are accepted -cheques to be made payable to Weardale Gymnastics Club (£36.00) Just for your info the Summer term is only 10 weeks which balances the number of sessions out over the year!

Reminder.........

We would like to remind parents again about some of the rules that must be followed to ensure the safety of  your child when attending their gymnastics class -

 Be on time!! If  the warm up is missed  this could lead to an injury

 Wear suitable clothing

shorts & t shirt or a leotard if possible but no loose clothing, hooded tops, skirts or leotards with skirts attached

 Long hair to be tied up, again this is a safety issue

 If 3 sessions are missed.......

It will be presumed that the gymnast no  longer wants to continue so their place will  be offered to the next child on the waiting   list - unless a member of the committee is contacted informing of the reason and duration

 Gymnasts to wait outside the Sports Hall until the club coaches invite the gymnasts into the gymnasium

 No outside shoes allowed in the Sports Hall - leave them in the entrance hall, with parents or in the changing rooms

 NO FOOD, SWEETS or DRINKS ALLOWED IN THE SPORTS HALL

If you have not received a copy of  "The Codes   of Conduct" form please see one of the   committee and we will provide you with a  further copy.

Your HELP is required in order to set the gymnastics equipment up in the hall and also to put it away at the end.  The Sports hall Staff are more that happy to help, however it is not their sole responsibility.

In order to reduce the cost of producing the club newsletter if you would like to receive a copy via email please drop Amanda an email at the Club email address - weardalegymnastics@yahoo.co.uk and your details will be added.  Can you include the name of the gymnast in this email.    This will commence once enough email addressess are received!
